KRAKEN
UNDERWATER ROBOTICS AT DTU
Designing and building an advanced remotely operated underwater vehicle for the MATE ROV Competition.
ENGINEERING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Kraken is a multidisciplinary student engineering team at DTU bringing together students to design, build and operate a complete underwater robotic system.
With the help of the MATE ROV Competition, our theoretical learning gets translated into practical engineering through interdisciplinary work on actual technical challenges and techniques employed by industries.
Our goal is to help bridge the gap between university and professional engineering.
BUILT FOR THE CHALLENGE
Kraken is developing a modular remotely operated underwater vehicle designed to tackle the technical challenges of the MATE ROV Competition.
The platform brings propulsion, sensing, vision, computing and mission tooling together into a single robotic system, developed, built and tested by students at DTU.
* The current vehicle renders are a promotional design mockup. The final competition model will be engineered by our mechanical team throughout the year.
ONE VEHICLE. MULTIPLE DISCIPLINES.
Kraken is built through collaboration between several engineering areas.
FOLLOW THE BUILD
Kraken is developed iteratively from concept to competition-ready vehicle.
